Big Sable Point Light

Ludington, Mi

Built in 1867 and automated in 1968, this beautiful lighthouse is a gem among lighthouses.  Standing 106 feet above sea level, her fixed white light can be seen from fifteen miles away.

The original name of this light was Grande Pointe au Sable.  In the early 1900s the name was changed to Big Sable.

To visit this light you have to walk over a mile - but the scenery can be well worth it!
